New Mexico State University’s Arrowhead Center will celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week Nov. 16-22 with various online events that include guest speaker Bill Aulet, a noted author and entrepreneur. All events are open to the public.

For one week in November, 180 countries come together to celebrate the inspirers, idea generators and drivers of economic growth, also known as global entrepreneurs, innovators and job creators. Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) is an initiative of the Global Entrepreneurship Network and comprises thousands of events and competitions, and aims to inspire millions to engage in entrepreneurial activity while connecting them to potential collaborators, mentors and investors.

“GEW at Arrowhead Center allows us to focus our network and resources, bringing together diverse talents who can spot opportunities and solve problems, all the while building connections that allow innovators to feel more comfortable taking the next steps,” said Kathryn Hansen, director of Arrowhead Center.

Events kick off at 3 p.m. Nov. 17, with the Stress Management for Entrepreneurs workshop with Monica LeBaron. The Women’s Small Business Innovation Research Coffee Corner will take place at 9 a.m. Nov. 18, and a Women Entrepreneur Coffee meetup with focused networking will take place Nov. 19.

At 2 p.m. Nov. 19, Arrowhead Center’s Studio G will present guest speaker Bill Aulet, author of “Disciplined Entrepreneur.” Aulet has changed the way entrepreneurship is understood, taught and practiced around the world. He is an award-winning educator and author whose current work is built off the foundation of his 25-year successful business career, first at IBM, and then as a three-time serial entrepreneur.

Since 2009, Aulet has been responsible for leading the development of entrepreneurship education across Massachusetts Institute of Technology at the Martin Trust Center for MIT Entrepreneurship. “Disciplined Entrepreneurship,” his first book, was released in August 2013, has gone on to be a bestseller in many countries and has been the basis of a series of highly successful MIT edX online classes.

At 2 p.m. Nov. 20, Arrowhead Center will be announcing a U.S. Small Business Administration Resource Partnership with a YouTube video premiere.
