New Mexico State University recognizes and presents staff members who demonstrate the university core values of leadership, excellence, access, diversity and inclusion, and those who are student-centered with the “A” Mountain Staff Award.
During the Employee Appreciation Picnic Oct. 31, Carley Casey, project support specialist with the Office of Accreditation, Outcomes and Academic Planning, was presented the award.
“I am very honored to be receiving the ‘A’ Mountain award and grateful to those who nominated and selected me,” Casey said. “NMSU has been my home for years and I have looked up to many others who have won this award because of their dedication to student success and the university as a whole. I am humbled to be a part of the remarkable list of previous winners.”
Casey graduated from NMSU with her bachelor’s degree in dance in 2017 and master’s in business administration in 2019. Currently, she is a member of the pro-staff with the Pride of New Mexico Marching Band, where she helps coordinate and execute its annual Tournament of Bands. Casey worked as chief of staff for the Associated Students of NMSU from 2017 to 2018 as a graduate student and as a program coordinator for the Office of the Provost and Academic Affairs from 2018 to 2021.
“Carley is a communicative, affable and constructive project manager on campus,” said Gabrielle Martinez, graduation and curriculum data specialist. “Carley is highly organized and willing to collaborate with anyone to make process improvements for our administration, staff and students. I have appreciated working with Carley during her time as a student and now staff leader.”
