WHAT: Students from New Mexico State University jewelry and metals class have created works responding to Georgina Treviño’s current exhibition titled “Greetings from Tijuana” at the NMSU Art Museum. Their works and exhibition titled “Greetings from Las Cruces” are on display Nov. 13-16. A public reception to close the exhibition is scheduled Nov. 15.
WHO: Members of the community are invited to attend along with participating jewelry art students: Melise Butler, Vinny Calderazzo, Matthew Cota, Candace Deskin, Leila Duran, Gisselle Gomez, Imperio Hernandez, Jana Johnson, Hames Lamb, Rae Legere, Mia Martinez, Piandria Shiner, Alexa Triviz.
WHEN: The works are currently on display Thursday, Nov. 13 through Sunday, Nov. 16, with a closing reception, hosted by NMSU’s Department of Art, from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15.
WHERE: The exhibition and closing reception are at New Mexico State University in the Serafino Collaboration Gallery in the University Art Museum inside Devasthali Hall at 1308 E. University Ave.
VISUALS: Jewelry created by students in NMSU professor Motoko Furuhashi’s jewelry and metals class reflect on the “Greetings from Tijuana” exhibition at the NMSU Art Museum by Georgina Treviño where Treviño takes visitors through Tijuana from the lens of personal experience and nostalgia. Treviño’s exhibition in the Bunny Conlon Modern & Contemporary Art Gallery at the NMSU Art Museum opened Sept. 19 and runs through March 7, 2026.
