Doña Ana Community College received two regional awards from the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations, earning a gold Medallion Award for its Apple Distinguished School promotional video and a bronze award for its student magazine, The Vox.
The gold award recognizes DACC’s video highlighting the college’s use of Apple technology to enhance teaching and learning. The video supported the college’s application for Apple Distinguished School designation, an honor DACC recently received. The video is available to watch here.
DACC’s bronze award recognized The Vox, a student magazine featuring original stories and creative writing supported by the college’s English department. Students contribute written work and help shape the publication’s visual design through layout and imagery. The magazine showcases student creativity and provides a platform for students to share their writing and artistic work.
“We are honored to receive these awards to showcase the hard work DACC puts in every single day for our students,” said Denise LaFrance, public information officer for Strategic Initiatives and Relationships at DACC. “What is more meaningful is that The Vox Magazine was designed by a student, with writings from students. It is remarkable that their produced work was recognized.”
The NCMPR Medallion Awards recognize excellence and innovation in marketing and communications at community and technical colleges. The regional competition honors work in areas such as graphic design, advertising, publications, digital media, photography and public relations.
DACC’s awards highlight the college’s commitment to using creative communications to showcase its educational programs, support student expression and engage its community.
