Alexa Doig, director of New Mexico State University’s School of Nursing, has been named interim dean of the College of Health, Education and Social Transformation effective April 11.
Doig will take over the position following the departure of current College of HEST interim Dean Phillip Post, who will be leaving the university.
“I am honored to step in as interim dean at a time when our college is making great strides in education, research and community engagement,” Doig said. “It is a privilege to work alongside the HEST community to prepare for a new permanent dean and to continue the vital mission of our college.”
Doig has served as director of the NMSU School of Nursing for more than seven years. Prior to joining NMSU, she was division chair at the University of Utah College of Nursing.
A permanent dean is expected to be named before the fall semester.
