Since 2019, Savannah Daniels has worked at NMSU’s Hidalgo County Cooperative Extension Service in Lordsburg. As the county program director and lone Extension 4-H agent, her daily responsibilities vary.
“My work involves a balance of planning and preparing programs, as well as engaging directly with community members to address their needs and promote growth.”
Daniels leads programming efforts in areas such as 4-H and youth development, animal and plant sciences, family and consumer sciences and community development. She mentors youth, fosters leadership skills and supports livestock projects. Daniels develops educational initiatives aimed at enhancing the sustainability of cattle producers and conducts community workshops, such as canning classes and life skills training for adults.
“I find great fulfillment in helping people discover their passion and enhance their quality of life,” Daniels said. “Knowing that my work has a meaningful impact on others is both rewarding and inspiring. I also enjoy the variety of work; no two days are the same.”
A two-time NMSU graduate, Daniels earned her bachelor’s degree in agricultural extension education in 2018 and master’s degree in agricultural extension in 2022.
