NM Youth Ranch Management Camp registration deadline May 6

This summer, 30 youth will be given the experience of learning ranch management skills at the New Mexico Youth Ranch Management Camp, conducted by New Mexico State University’s College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences.   

Openings will be available for 27 New Mexico students along with three spots reserved for out-of-state students. Youth ages 15 to 19 are able to apply for the educational opportunity held from June 12-17 where they will receive college-level instruction on the aspects of ranching, such as managing a ranch, financial statements, marketing strategies to producing quality beef and managing natural resources and wildlife. 

The camp will be held at the CS Cattle Company’s 130,000-acre ranch near Cimarron, New Mexico. 

The deadline to apply is May 6. Accepted applicants will be notified by May 13. Once accepted, a fee of $300 is required to cover a portion of the participants’ camp expenses. To register, visit https://nmyrm.nmsu.edu/nmyrmc-app.html

Scholarships are available for accepted applicants. Once accepted, applicants can contact a New Mexico Youth Ranch Management Committee member for additional information.
