The New Mexico Clean Energy Resilience and Growth (NM CERG) cluster, funded in part by the United States Department of Energy and housed at New Mexico State University´s Arrowhead Center, has announced its cohort of startups for the EnergySprint clean tech accelerator program.
Clean tech energy startups are crucial for the transition to a sustainable future. As the world faces increasing environmental challenges such as climate change and pollution, developing and implementing innovative solutions that reduce reliance on fossil fuels and promote cleaner, renewable energy sources is essential.
“NM CERG is committed to promoting diversity and inclusivity in the startup ecosystem, and we are proud to have a diverse cohort of founders with different backgrounds, expertise and perspective,” said Carlos Murguia, EnergySprint program manager.
After a rigorous selection process, NM CERG has chosen 13 startups to participate in the program. The cohort of 13 clean tech startups consists of companies from different locations, including Texas, New Mexico, California and Arizona, all with a common goal of promoting sustainability and addressing environmental challenges. These startups represent various verticals such as climate tech, EV charging, geospatial software, renewable power plants, batteries, solar panels, conservation and carbon-negative energy. The startups either have a presence in New Mexico, are looking to move to New Mexico, or have a technology that impacts the state.
The selected startups will receive feedback, objectives-setting and mentorship from clean energy experts to help them accelerate their growth and bring their ideas to market.
“By supporting clean tech energy startups, we are promoting sustainability and creating a more resilient and equitable future for generations to come,” said Dana Catron, NM CERG director. “They have the potential to disrupt traditional energy markets, leading to a more decentralized and democratized energy system that is more accessible and affordable for all.”
