New Mexico State University’s Student Success Center and Undergraduate Admissions and Orientation along with the Hispanic Scholarship Fund and The Bridge of Southern New Mexico will host a virtual HSF Road to College workshop from 5 to 6:30 p.m. April 27. The free, bilingual, 90-minute workshop will be held on Zoom to help middle and high school students and their families learn more about how to prepare for college.

The virtual event is free but registration is required at https://ee.hsf.net/en/events/hsf-road-to-college-central-mountain-time-zone.

HSF Road to College identifies and addresses the various steps necessary to plan for a college education. Sessions are focused on topics such as preparing for and applying to college, selecting a college, paying for college, researching financial aid and scholarship opportunities, and understanding the cost of a college education. The program is offered in English and Spanish.

“NMSU is delighted to partner with the Hispanic Scholarship Fund and The Bridge of Southern New Mexico to provide middle/high school students and their family members with information on how to navigate the college admissions process,” said Tony Marin, assistant vice president of student affairs. “We are particularly proud of the fact that HSF Road to College encourages students and their families to start to plan for college as early as middle school. The HSF Road to College event encompasses one of many K-12 outreach initiatives that New Mexico State University presents to the local, state and regional communities.”

This is the final of three virtual HSF college preparation workshops. At the virtual HSF College 101 event in late February more than 2,100 participants attended. For additional information, please contact the NMSU Aggie One Stop at 575-646-6678.
