After weeks of anticipation, New Mexico State University and Sodexo debuted their first Yo-Kai ramen vending machine, which is also the first in New Mexico, Monday at Garcia Hall.
The machines have proven popular at other locations in California, Texas, Arizona and Florida. Several weeks ago, NMSU Dining teased the machine’s arrival at Garcia Hall with a social media post that earned a huge response from students and their families.
“The Yo-Kai ramen vending machine is a great solution for dining at any time, day or night,” said Candice Nanco, director of marketing for NMSU Dining. “It offers authentic recipes and noodles are ready in 60 seconds or less.”
Prices range from $10.99 to $12.99 pre-tax. Accepted forms of payment include credit and debit cards, Aggie Cash and Dining Dollars.
The machine’s menu includes dessert options and soups and bowls such as:
• Taiwan beef noodle soup
• Black garlic tonkotsu ramen
• Tonkotsu ramen
• Teriyaki chicken rice bowl
• Vegan udon
• Korean seafood jjamppong ramen
• Tantanmen
• Vietnamese beef pho
• Vietnamese chicken pho
• Shrimp tempura udon
• Mushroom vegetarian miso ramen
• Tiramisu
• Black sesame roll cake
Nanco said more machines will be around campus if the machine at Garcia Hall proves successful.
