NMSU Board of Regents closed meeting, potential quorum notice

The New Mexico State University Board of Regents will hold a closed meeting at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15, in Jett Hall, Room 274. The closed meeting is being called to complete the performance assessment of NMSU President Valerio Ferme under his contract, as permitted under the personnel matters exemption of the New Mexico Open Meetings Act, NMSA Section 10-15-1, subsection (H)(2).

Separately, the regents may also participate in the following events as follows:

Saturday, Sept.13:

  • 9 a.m.: 2025 Gratitude Walk/Run on the Horseshoe on NMSU’s Las Cruces campus.

Monday, Sept. 15:

  • 10 a.m.: Tree-planting ceremony for former Regent Dina Chacón-Reitzel, east of Corbett Center Student Union.
  • 11:30 a.m.: Invitation-only lunch at the New Mexico Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum in Las Cruces.
  • 4:30 p.m.: Tour of the engineering facilities on the Las Cruces campus.

No votes or official actions will be taken by the NMSU Board of Regents at these events. Contact the Office of the Board of Regents at 575-646-5997 for additional information.
