The New Mexico State University Board of Regents will participate in orientation sessions next week, and potential quorums may exist for optional social events from 8 a.m. Wednesday, July 12, until 1 p.m. Friday, July 14. In addition, regents may attend the following optional activities:
Wednesday, July 12
- 12:15 p.m.: Lunch with 4-H students (Taos dining hall, Corbett Center Student Union)
- 1:30 p.m.: Tour of campus
- 3:30 p.m.: Budget and finance overview (Hadley Hall, Room 130)
- 5 p.m.: Clery Act overview (Hadley Hall, Room 130)
- 6 p.m.: Dinner by invitation (Hacienda de Mesilla, 1891 Avenida de Mesilla)
Thursday, July 13
- 8:30 a.m.: New Mexico Department of Agriculture ribbon-cutting and groundbreaking ceremony (NMDA building on Las Cruces campus)
- 10 a.m.: Tour of Physical Science Laboratory (Anderson Hall)
- Noon: Lunch by invitation (Stan Fulton Center)
- 1 p.m.: A brief history of the land-grant (Stan Fulton Center)
- 1:30 p.m.: An overview of the academy at NMSU (Stan Fulton Center)
- 2 p.m.: Search process briefing (Stan Fulton Center)
- 5 p.m.: 4-H dinner and award ceremony (ticketed event at the Las Cruces Convention Center)
Friday, July 14
- 8 a.m.: Special meeting (Regents Room, Educational Services Center). Notice and agenda will be posted separately.
- 10:30 a.m.: Legislative session overview (Hadley Hall, Room 130)
- 11:30 a.m.: Legal and fiduciary overview (Hadley Hall, Room 130)
- Noon: Closing lunch (Hadley Hall)
No votes or other official actions will be taken by the Board of Regents during the orientation or optional activities.
