NMSU Board of Regents to convene for work sessions, closed meetings Aug. 4-6

The Board of Regents of New Mexico State University will hold closed meetings and orientation work sessions between Aug. 4 and Aug. 6, as detailed below. No votes or other official actions will be taken by the regents during the work session.

Monday, Aug. 4

  • 1:30 p.m.: Closed meeting in Hadley Hall, Room 130, on the Las Cruces campus to discuss pending litigation in accordance with NMSA Section 10-15-1 H(7) of the New Mexico Open Meetings Act.
  • 3:30 p.m.: Closed meeting in Hadley Hall, Room 130, on the Las Cruces campus to discuss the potential purchase, acquisition or disposal of real property or water rights as permitted by NMSA Section 10-15-1, subsection (H)(8), and pending litigation subject to the attorney-client privilege under NMSA subsection 10-15-1(H)(7) of the Open Meetings Act.

Tuesday, Aug. 5

  • 2 p.m.: Work session in in Hadley Hall, Room 130, on the Las Cruces campus to discuss legal compliance and fiduciary duties.
  • 3:30 p.m.: Work session in Hadley Hall, Room 130, on the Las Cruces campus to discuss strategic planning.

Friday, Aug. 6

  • 8 a.m.: Closed meeting, in Hadley Hall, Room 130, on the Las Cruces campus to complete an interim performance assessment of NMSU President Valerio Ferme under his contract, as permitted under the personnel matters exemption of the New Mexico Open Meetings Act, NMSA Section 10-15-1, subsection (H)(2).
