The public will have an opportunity to learn about the latest research addressing challenges faced by the agriculture industry in the southwest, including New Mexico, at this year’s field day hosted by New Mexico State University’s Corona Range and Livestock Research Center.

The center’s field day will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 15, at the center, located at 739 University Road in Corona. The event is free, and lunch will be provided.

Livestock producers, ranchers, land managers, students, agricultural professionals and the public will learn about ongoing projects at the center, with scientists, faculty, Extension specialists and staff available throughout the day to discuss their research and answer questions. Participants will have the opportunity to interact directly with researchers and learn how current discoveries in beef cattle production, rangeland management, nutrition, reproduction, animal health and natural resource management can be applied to livestock operations across the region.

“The Corona field day provides an excellent opportunity for producers and agricultural stakeholders to see firsthand the research being conducted at the center and to visit directly with the faculty and staff leading these projects,” said Shad Cox, the center’s research director. “Our goal is to share practical, science-based information that benefits New Mexico’s livestock industry.”
