New Mexico State University’s Cooperative Extension Service will host the Valencia County Fall Farm Festival Saturday, Oct. 19, to connect community members to local producers, businesses and programs.

The festival will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at NMSU’s Agricultural Science Center in Los Lunas, 1036 Miller Road. The cost of attendance is $5 per person.

“The event provides an opportunity for agricultural education and engagement for both youth and adults that is economically feasible,” said Crystal Anaya, Extension family and consumer sciences agent.

The entry fee includes a corn maze, a pumpkin, while supplies last, hayrides, access to local producer and business booths, live demonstrations and 4-H games. Proceeds will be donated to Valencia County’s 4-H Program.

“NMSU is directly benefitted by the community engagement and outreach of the event,” Anaya said.

“This event spotlights adult and youth programs offered through the Extension Service as well as local producers, state programs, Ag Science Center research and provides an opportunity for NMSU recruitment through our assigned recruiter” said Sierra Cain, Valencia County Extension program director.

The festival will run concurrently with field day at NMSU’s Agricultural Science Center in Los Lunas. Visitors can attend both events.
