The New Mexico State University Foundation invites NMSU employees and student organizations to submit fundraising ideas for inclusion in the 1888 Minutes of Giving campaign, which is part of Founders Day April 22.

During Founders Day and 1888 Minutes of Giving, eligible organizations and faculty can apply to feature a dedicated fund on the GiveCampus crowdfunding platform to attract donor support.

“Being able to raise funds for the students who take part in our rodeo team has been a real gift,” said Brice Baggarley, NMSU rodeo team head coach. “These students work so hard and travel all around the country to compete, and win, at the highest levels, and 1888 Minutes of Giving helps them be able to meet their expenses and do their best.”

The 1888 Minutes of Giving campaign runs from 10 a.m. April 22 to 5:28 p.m. April 23 spanning 1,888 minutes to honor the university’s founding. The NMSU Foundation invites student organizations and faculty members to submit fundraising goals through a general survey at http://bit.ly/40GOZbq, and complete their giving page by March 31.

Launched in 2024 as part of Founders Day, 1888 Minutes of Giving honors NMSU’s visionary founders and celebrates the faculty and staff who continue to advance the university’s land-grant mission. With a fundraising goal of $188,888, the campaign supports a wide range of initiatives, including Aggie Cupboard, Aggies Go Global and the rodeo team.

Additionally, NMSU faculty, staff and retirees can leave a legacy by establishing a Cornerstone Endowment, an accessible way to fund an endowed scholarship. For assistance, contact the NMSU Foundation development office at 575-201-9023.

The 1888 Minutes of Giving portal opens March 25 at 1888minutesofgiving.org. For more information, call 575-201-9023 or email annualgiving@nmsufoundation.org.
