NMSU Global Campus has partnered with FracStrat LLC, a New Mexico-based leadership and organizational development consulting firm, to launch a new online professional development course designed to help learners build the workplace skills employers value most.

The course, Stand Out and Succeed: 8 Essential Professional Skills for Today's Workplace, equips recent graduates, early-career professionals and emerging leaders with practical skills that support workplace success and long-term career growth.

The partnership combines NMSU Global Campus' commitment to accessible, workforce-focused learning with FracStrat's expertise in leadership development and organizational effectiveness.

"Career success today requires more than subject-matter expertise," said Michael Ely, founder and principal consultant of FracStrat. "Professionals who communicate with influence, solve complex challenges, lead through change and take ownership are the individuals who drive results, elevate teams and accelerate their careers. This course provides practical tools learners can apply immediately in any workplace setting."

The course is organized around eight professional skill areas:

  • Say It So It Lands
  • Running the Day Before It Runs You
  • Think Before You Solve
  • Win as a Team, Not Just as a Player
  • Lead From Where You Are
  • Presence Is More Than Just Showing Up
  • Feedback Is a Gift, If You're Ready to Open It
  • Bend So You Don't Break

A unique feature of the course is the inclusion of insights from New Mexico business leaders, including:

  • Mark Herman, CEO of Dion's Pizza
  • Sarah Bush, CEO of the New Mexico Museum of Natural History Foundation
  • Paul Mondragon, president of Bank of America New Mexico
  • Jackson Johns, president of National Roofing
  • Andrew Baca, CEO of ABBA Technologies
  • Lem Hunter, CEO of Vibrant Corp.
  • Phil Abeyta, CEO of Tech34
  • Mark Fidel, CEO of Fidel Consulting Group

The leaders share career insights and lessons learned from their professional experiences, helping learners connect course concepts to real-world workplace challenges.

"NMSU Global Campus is committed to helping learners develop skills that translate directly into career success," said Andrew Sedillo, executive director of strategic initiatives and partnerships. "Our partnership with FracStrat brings practical workplace expertise into a learning experience that is immediately relevant and valuable for today's workforce."

The launch of Stand Out and Succeed marks the first offering in a broader collaboration between NMSU Global Campus and FracStrat focused on workforce development and professional growth opportunities for learners across New Mexico and beyond.
