New Mexico State University’s Office of Experiential Learning will host the 48th annual Educators’ Job Fair Monday, April 25. This in-person career event will take place from 1 to 6 p.m. in Corbett Center Student Union, third floor ballrooms. Employers looking to recruit talented candidates can register in Handshake as well as set up schedules to meet with candidates individually or in group sessions. OEL is excited to bring NMSU students and school districts together again as the 2021 fair was held virtually.
This year’s event will provide candidates with an opportunity to visit with multiple school districts located throughout the region and the United States. Candidates will include current student teachers, experienced educators and administrators, principals, nurses, school counselors, and social workers. More than 50 education organizations will be recruiting for various career opportunities to include: Osborn School District, Jeffco Public Schools-Colorado, Isaac School District No. 5-Phoenix, Arizona, El Paso Independent School District, Las Cruces Public Schools and Gadsden Independent School District to name a few.
This event is inclusive of all majors, not only for those in education. Students in non-education majors may be interested in districts’ licensure programs and may be interested in discussing alternative teaching license career options and employment opportunities with school districts.
Candidates wishing to attend need to pre-register in Handshake to view the most current list of employers attending the fair. Handshake is accessible on the OEL website at oel.nmsu.edu. It is recommended that students research potential employers in advance and dress professionally for the fair. Resumes should be up to date and ready to distribute during the fair. The Student Success Center offers assistance with resume review and interview preparation. For more information on career preparation, contact Yvonne Franco or Cody Womack at 575-646-3136.
