WHAT: The New Mexico State University Foundation invites you to be part of NMSU’s 1888 Minutes of Giving campaign, which is part of Founders Day April 22. NMSU's 1888 Minutes of Giving runs from 10 a.m. April 22 to 5:28 p.m. April 23 spanning more than 31 hours to honor the university’s founding. NMSU Rodeo team and NMSU Ballet Folklórico programs are among several programs highlighted during the event.

WHEN: From 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 22 to 5:28 p.m. Wednesday, April 23.

WHERE: Various locations (see below)

VISUALS:

  • Tuesday, April 22 (10 a.m. – 12 p.m.) – Parade from Hadley Hall to Corbett Center, Student Organizations tabling outside Corbett Center. Visuals: Dr. Sylvia Y. Acosta, CEO of the NMSU Foundation; NMSU President Valerio Ferme; deans, students, Pete’s Outlaws band, and dancers from NMSU’s Ballet Folklórico will participate in the parade
  • April 2 – 22 – NMSU’s Ballet Folklórico dance team and Rodeo team, both student organizations fundraising during 1888 Minutes of Giving, will host performances and demonstrations that media can film. Student leaders and faculty sponsors may be available for interviews. 
  • Tuesday, April 22 & Wednesday, April 23 (9 a.m. – 4 p.m.) – Foundation tabling outside Corbett Center with students writing thank-you notes to donors and donating canned goods to the Aggie Cupboard
  • Tuesday, April 22 (9 a.m.) – Campaign kickoff with student  workers answering donation calls at the front desk of Dove Hall, Foundation headquarters
  • Tuesday, April 22 (6 – 8 p.m.) – Trivia Night at Bosque Brewing Co., 2102 Telshor Ct. Las Cruces-area Aggies competing in trivia about "The Office" and selecting a Founder's Day initiative to support.
  • Wednesday, April 23 (3 – 5 p.m.) – Celebration at Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum.  Donors gathering to celebrate the campaign’s success, ringing the bell at 4:28 p.m. to mark the end of the campaign, and the announcement of the final fundraising total.
