The Hunt Center for Entrepreneurship at New Mexico State University’s Arrowhead Center is now accepting applications for its online GenAI Systems Builder Sprint, a six-week accelerator designed to help startups in New Mexico and the Borderplex region build practical AI-powered tools and automation systems for their businesses.
The Hunt Center for Entrepreneurship supports Arrowhead Center’s mission to expand economic opportunity in the Borderplex region by empowering diverse communities to engage in entrepreneurship, increasing access to early-stage investment opportunities, and inspiring students and founders to develop innovative products and services for the commercial market.
Running every Thursday from March 26 through April 30, 2026, the GenAI Systems Builder Sprint will guide founders through the process of designing and building internal AI systems that automate workflows, process data, and generate insights that improve decision-making and operational efficiency within their startups. The program will be delivered through weekly two-hour virtual sessions via Zoom and is free for selected participants.
“The next generation of founders will not just use AI tools — they will build AI systems that run parts of their companies,” said Carlos Murguia, director of the Hunt Center for Entrepreneurship. “This sprint is designed to give entrepreneurs the practical skills and confidence to build automation tools, internal workflows, and AI-powered applications tailored specifically to their startups.”
Throughout the six-week program, participants will work hands-on with modern generative AI development tools to create functional prototypes and automation systems. Founders will learn how to translate real business challenges into working AI solutions that support activities such as customer research, sales outreach, investor reporting, competitive intelligence, and operational automation.
Sessions combine concept briefings with interactive building workshops where participants progressively develop their own AI-powered systems. Each week expands the capabilities of these systems, enabling founders to integrate data sources, automate tasks, and generate insights that support day-to-day business operations.
The program is designed for founders and early-stage companies interested in using artificial intelligence to improve their internal operations or build new technology-enabled products. Participants are expected to attend weekly sessions and actively develop their AI systems throughout the duration of the sprint.
To qualify for the GenAI Systems Builder Sprint, startups must be based in New Mexico or the Borderplex region or have plans to relocate to these areas. Space in the cohort is limited.
