New Mexico State University will celebrate the completion of Alumni Pond with a grand opening ceremony from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, on the south side of the pond.
The ceremony will mark the completion of the project and welcome the NMSU community back to the pond, a campus gathering space located in the heart of the university.
The event will include brief remarks from NMSU and community representatives, as well as an opportunity for students, faculty, staff, alumni and visitors to gather and celebrate the completed project.
“Completing the Alumni Pond project has been a collaborative effort, and we’re excited to welcome the NMSU community back to this space,” said Jose Loera, executive director of project development and engineering, “We hope the pond continues to serve as a place where students, faculty, staff, alumni and visitors can gather and enjoy the campus.”
Alumni Pond is a familiar landmark on the NMSU campus and provides an outdoor space for the university community to gather, relax and enjoy the campus environment.
Members of the NMSU community are invited to attend the ceremony and celebrate the completion of the project. Guests are welcome to attend the full ceremony or stop by for part of the event.
