New Mexico State University College of Engineering and Sandia National Laboratories will host a week-long summer camp for STEM high school teachers and students in June. Quantum Computing, Mathematics and Physics, or QCamp, will be offered for free, and participants receive a learning stipend.
The teacher camp will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. June 5-9 in Albuquerque and virtually. Register at bit.ly/QCampTeacher2023. Teacher camp enrollment closes Friday, May 12.
The student camp will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 26-30 on NMSU’s Las Cruces campus and virtually. Register at bit.ly/QCaMPStudent2023.
“We are excited to partner with Sandia Nationals Labs and several other New Mexico organizations to bring QCaMP to the NMSU campus,” said Clara Raley, NMSU STEM program manager. “This is a new day camp available for high school students and teachers who are interested in diving deep into quantum physics. It should be a wonderful experience for all.”
Participants will receive a primer on computing fundamentals, learn hands-on about quantum physics, and apply those occurrences to solve computing problems in new ways. Participants will interact with world-class scientists, engineers and leaders in the field.
