Maria Nuñez is the administrative assistant for the NMSU Agricultural Science Center at Clovis, and has proven to be a valuable asset to the center’s staff and the community it serves.
Nuñez is originally from Aguascalientes, Mexico, and graduated from Bovina High School in Bovina, Texas. She started working for NMSU soon after her high school graduation as a temporary laborer in summer of 2009. She was hired as an administrative assistant in August 2013.
She is responsible for the center’s timesheets, hiring and multiple other tasks, which center staff said she takes on with grace and ease, making it all look easy. She also assists with Spanish translations and goes the extra mile to assist both staff and the public to make sure the center is well represented.
Nuñez is also well-known around the center for her love of animals, especially her cats and chickens.
