Taysha Walter is a two-time NMSU graduate who has worked in the Marketing and Communications office since 2021. As a marketing communications specialist, Walter works closely with the department’s marketing and web teams.
In a typical day, Walter is a problem solver for Cascade users, often answering questions, managing platform access and, if needed, investigating web issues. On the marketing side, she works with clients across campus to determine their needs and vision for a project, and communicates those ideas to a designer, who brings their vision to life.
“I work with an incredible group of very talented individuals,” Walter said. “They don’t hesitate to offer feedback and support, ensuring that we produce the best outcomes. I enjoy the variety in my position; each day brings something new, and it’s exciting to solve a new web puzzle or begin edits for a marketing project. I’m able to connect with individuals on campus that I wouldn’t otherwise meet, and it’s great to get to know the Aggie community.”
While Walter works with several units and departments across campus, she primarily supports the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences, including its academic departments, the Cooperative Extension Service and Agricultural Experiment Station.
Walter had close ties to the College of ACES even before she joined the Marketing and Communications office. As a college student, ACES was her academic home for her undergraduate and graduate studies. She graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in agricultural and extension education with an emphasis in communications and a minor in journalism and mass communications. In 2017, she earned a Master of Arts in agricultural extension and community development.
“As a College of ACES alumna, it has been very special to work with these same units and departments that guided my education and provided incredible opportunities for me throughout my studies,” she said.
